I feel that the time has come when I too should publicly express my gratitude for and appreciation of Christian Science. Through the reading of the text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," and Mrs. Eddy's other writings, the drinking habit has left me completely. I had also been an inveterate smoker for twenty years. When I came into Science a few years ago, I had no intention of giving up this habit, but the desire soon left me, never to return, and for this I am very thankful.
Christian Science is a practical religion. It has taught me to realize the protecting power of divine Love at all times and for all occasions. It is beneficial in business as well as in the home. In Science and Health Mrs. Eddy teaches us how to have that Mind "which was also in Christ Jesus." By following these teachings I have gained a spiritual uplift, peace, joy, and harmony, and this state of consciousness is for every one who wants to study and live up to this glorious truth.
My gratitude is beyond words that through my slight understanding I am not only able to help myself, but, in the words of our Leader (Science and Health, p. 570), can give others "a cup of cold water in Christ's name."— New York, N. Y.
