It is over twenty-five years since I first heard of Christian Science. Then I bought a copy of Science and Health, but did not understand it, though I felt positive that Christian Science was the truth, and upheld it at every opportunity. About eight years later I decided to study the book and rely on Christian Science for healing. Soon afterward my youngest daughter, seven years old, came home from school with high fever, which the doctor said was scarlatina. I telegraphed at once to my brother-in-law, a Christian Science practitioner, and the child got along finely with absent treatment and was well in a short while. That was our first experience with Christian Science healing, and since then we all have been students of its teachings. We know that God heals all our sicknesses, when we trust Him fully.
Several years ago, in stepping from the door, I fell and injured my ankle. I was alone and the pain was intense. It seemed for a moment as if I would have to lie there until help came; then the thought came, God is here and able to help me, and I was instantly healed. I rose and went into the house, and cried for very joy that God had healed me so quickly. A few days later I noticed that the ankle and foot were discolored, but there had been no pain any of the time. I know from experience that God is able to heal at all times and in all places, if we but trust Him.
I feel deeply grateful to Mrs. Eddy, who with her love for mankind and obedience to God was able to show us the way out of darkness into everlasting light. — Elmdale Kan.
