It is with a heart full of thankfulness to God that I wish to acknowledge publicly what Christian Science has done for me. About eight years ago I was instantaneously healed of neuralgia.
In October, 1913, I met with a severe accident. In getting out of an automobile I stepped on a stone, which rolled and threw me down with the full weight of the body on one ankle. Upon attempting to rise I found it impossible to move, and when two men carried me into the house the pain was intense, though I kept declaring the truth. This happened about six in the evening. My husband immediately called for a Christian Science practitioner, but she happened to be away from home, so that it was fully three hours before I could get help.
As soon as the practitioner returned I knew that she was treating me, for the pain began to lessen. The next day the leg was in bad condition. The ligaments were torn loose and the condition seemed much worse than a break; but in a few days the swelling and discoloration disappeared, and in three weeks I was able to put on a shoe and go to church. In a way this slow healing was a blessing, for the enforced confinement enabled me to give more time to the study of the text-book than I would otherwise have felt was possible, and thus to realize more and more the ever presence and allness of God.
