Christian Science has brought so many blessings to me that I wish to express my gratitude. I am striving lovingly to live according to its teachings and know that a better understanding is being gained, for I am able to work out many problems for myself.
I came into Science through the healing of chronic bowel disorder, with many attendant ailments, for which two surgical operations had been performed. Severe headache used to make me ill for days at a time, but when this trouble presents itself occasionally now, it is always quickly overcome. An eruption from poison-oak, which covered my face and arms, disappeared in two days, leaving no indications except a slight roughness of the skin.
We have two children, who have never had a physician's care or medicine; treatment from a practitioner, however, has been required occasionally. While visiting, both babies were suddenly taken ill with what materia medica calls ptomaine poisoning. The attack came on about three o'clock in the morning, and by the middle of the forenoon they were so ill that neither child could move, speak, or open its eyes, and the temperature of both was very high. A Christian Science practitioner was sent for and remained with them until three o'clock in the afternoon, when both were quietly sleeping and perspiring freely. Treatment was given each to correct the bowel difficulty, and the following day, although a little weak, both were happy and well.
