Testimonies of Healing

From the November 1916 issue of The Christian Science Journal

It would be difficult to give an adequate expression of thanks for the benefits which I and my dear relatives have received through Christian Science within the last two and a half years. Wonderful indeed has been the way in which we have been attracted one after another by this wonderful teaching, from distant Hungary to Dresden, Germany, in the search for the healing of mind and body. We all have found more than we anticipated, for not only has the healing in these instances been complete, but a deeper study of divine Science has shown us how we may daily, hourly, work out our problems, hence our salvation; and this is the prime reason for my gratitude.

With regard to the physical healing experienced I would mention that a little nephew over whom the physicians had passed the verdict that he would remain a cripple, was able to walk after six weeks of treatment in Christian Science and is now a healthy, happy boy. Absent treatment was given my brother for a severe attack of typhoid fever, and in the case of my mother for an attack of fever which did not seem to yield. In both instances there was an immediate improvement after treatment was begun. The same brother has been wonderfully protected in the very tumult of battle through God's goodness and the faithful efforts of a dear practitioner. An inexpressible sense of gratitude fills me that we should have become acquainted with these teachings at the right time, for only through the daily study of Christian Science has it become possible for us to look forward with hope and joy, to live and work with love, while giving thanks. My heart is also filled with gratitude toward Mrs. Eddy, through whose pure, self-sacrificing life such beautiful results have been made possible. I daily feel more clearly that I would give up everything in the world rather than Christian Science.—
