I wish to acknowledge and express my gratitude for the benefits that have come to me through Christian Science, having been healed several years ago of four organic troubles which the best physicians in this country and in four countries of Europe had been unable to cure. I had been obliged to lie down a good part of the time, and there was little improvement in my condition.
When a dear friend urged me to try Christian Science, I refused and continued to suffer. I accepted a very important engagement, hoping to be able to pull through, but for the first time in my experience I broke down and fainted away while singing. I was brought home, and again this dear friend, hearing of my condition and not allowing my former rebuff to check her desire to help me, told me that there was no need for me to suffer, as God would heal me. I at once consented to try Christian Science, since there was nothing else left to try, and rejoice to say that I was healed in less than a week and found God for the first time. I had given little thought to things spiritual, but now owe everything I am to Christian Science. My voice had been lost through an operation, three physicians having said I would never sing again, but thanks to Christian Science I was able to return to Europe and fill very important engagements for six years, — this time with Science and Health as my only physician. My voice has been in perfect condition ever since.
I have gone through many seeming trials in the passing on of loved ones, but God has been an ever-present help. My earnest desire is to grow into a fuller understanding of God as taught in our text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy.
