It is a little more than a year since I first turned to Christian Science for physical healing, and found God. I had been an invalid for years, and for months at a time was completely helpless from a severe spinal trouble. Physicians and surgeons, both here and abroad, had pronounced my case hopeless. Change of climate also proved of no benefit. In my misery I wandered to Fort Scott, Kan., money gone, alone in the world, and with the feeling that even God had forsaken me. Then I lost my eyesight and once more turned to materia medica, but could get no help. Moreover, for five years I had been addicted to the use of morphine. In this condition I turned to Christian Science and called in a practitioner. After one treatment I could see perfectly, and that evening the drug was disposed of. The spinal trouble was overcome in a very short time, and thus the healing was complete. Though my eyes are in constant use, I do not wear glasses and am perfectly well for the first time in my life.
While I am very grateful for the physical healing, words cannot express my gratitude for a God who is Love, for a Bible that is understandable, and for a Leader who could give to the world "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures."
