Like many others, I came to Christian Science for physical healing, and was relieved of a stomach trouble of many years' standing. Before receiving Christian Science treatment I had tried several different systems of diet and every drug that I could hear of that was supposed to help my trouble, but I grew steadily worse. At the time I began to receive help in Christian Science I was in a sanitarium, living on milk alone. My healing occurred in 1911 and has been permanent, for I can now say truly that I take no thought of what I shall eat.
I have also been relieved of a tendency to take cold. Before I had any knowledge of Christian Science I was hardly ever free from this trouble; now it is a rare occasion for me to have the slightest cold, and if one does manifest itself the condition is very readily overcome. I have been relieved too from a great fear that I had lung trouble, several of my relatives having passed on from this disease, and also helped to overcome severe attacks of despondency.
For all these blessings I am deeply thankful to God; also grateful for the spiritual inspiration gained from the study of our text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. I am thankful that God sent to the world such a spiritual teacher as our revered Leader, through whose unwavering faith and understanding of infinite Love there has been brought to suffering humanity the truth that Christ Jesus said would make us free. I sincerely trust that my life may daily express my gratitude, and my prayer is that I may be more worthy of the name Christian Scientist.— Collinsville, Ala.
