I am very happy to tell what Christian Science has done for me, thinking it may help others. For fifteen years I was ill most of the time and suffered seemingly from almost every disease flesh is heir to. A few years ago, I went in October with my daughter to Bedford, Ind., and was sick all that winter. Then when the hot weather came on I was prostrated. My temperature was very high and there was said to be inflammation of the gall-bladder. The doctor declared that nothing but an operation could save me, but having been operated on several years previously for gall-stones, I refused to submit to another experience, saying I would live as long as was possible without medicine.
My daughter then asked me to try Christian Science, as everything else had failed; and having heard that Christian Scientists did not give medicine, I consented. A practitioner was called in, and with the first treatment a chronic bowel trouble of twelve years' standing was overcome. When she left at the end of two weeks I could walk around the house and a short way in the open. Since that first treatment I have not taken any medicine, but have continued to gain in strength and am now in good health. My only regret is that I did not understand Christian Science years ago, as it would have saved me from so much suffering.
I am thankful not only for the healing power of Christian Science, but for the peace and harmony it has brought into my life. Through my healing five of my family came into Science. We all enjoy it very much and are trying to live by its teachings. I am also truly grateful for Mrs. Eddy's interpretation of the Bible in our text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures."— Springfield, Mass.
