This testimony is given in gratitude for the many blessings which have come to me and mine through Christian Science, and in the hope that it may benefit some one. For thirty years I had been in bondage to stomach trouble, which culminated ten years ago in what was pronounced ulceration of the stomach and hemorrhage of the intestines. The treatment prescribed by the physicians was to lie in bed in one position for a period of three to five weeks, no food of any kind passing my lips for five days. I had this same treatment for three attacks in a period of seven years, and during all this time was on a most rigid diet. Many other methods of treatment were tried, including electricity. I suffered greatly from neuralgia, and was in a miserable condition mentally as a consequence of the many physical ills.
Four years ago Christian Science was recommended to me by a friend, and I grasped at it as eagerly as years before I had ridiculed it. My healing was almost instantaneous, and with it came an earnest desire to know what it was that had healed me. As the truth has entered into my consciousness, darkness and despair have passed away, and in heartfelt gratitude I desire to acknowledge my everlasting debt of gratitude to God and my thankfulness to our revered Leader, who was pure enough to be the channel to bring this immortal truth to mankind.
Many demonstrations of the power of Truth have been made in the home and in business. Every blade of grass, every flower, every child of God looks more beautiful. Envy, hate, prejudice, sarcasm, criticism, have been healed, as I have learned to think right. Our son is having the privilege of Sunday school instruction in Christian Science and we realize what a blessing he is enjoying.— Chicago, III.
