In the year 1905 I was pronounced...

From the November 1917 issue of The Christian Science Journal

In the year 1905 I was pronounced by a most eminent physician a physical and nervous wreck. He told me I was incurable and could never expect to be a well woman, but he would do all he could to alleviate my sufferings. Christian Science was brought to my attention, and I bought a copy of Science and Health, which I read daily. Suddenly a great light and joy dawned upon my consciousness, as I realized complete healing. For years I had not been able to walk any distance, but that afternoon I covered over forty blocks without fatigue.

My last baby was born while I was having Christian Science treatment, and in a very short time I was up and active. My son when two and a half years old was struck by an electric passenger car and thrown violently. He was picked up for dead, but was out next morning as well as ever. I was away from home at the time, and this demonstration was made by my twelve year old daughter, although under very distressing circumstances. Many more proofs of the power of Truth have taken place in our midst, as since my healing our six children, my husband, and myself have relied absolutely upon the truth that makes free.

Gratitude and hope combined urge me ever onward to that exploration beyond and above material sense, which has been made possible by our revered Leader.
