Since becoming interested in Christian Science some few years ago, I have had many beautiful experiences of the healing of both mind and body, including physical troubles from which I had suffered since childhood. These did not all disappear from thought without some effort on my part to realize their nothingness; in fact there have been periods of doubt and discouragement, but through the help of others at times, and with my own desire to know and understand God better, the old ailments have faded away into their native nothingness. After having worn glasses, much to my dislike, for many years, and with my sense of sight apparently growing worse, I decided about two years ago that it was time for me to depend upon God, or Mind, for this as well as other things. I have never worn glasses since, and can truthfully say that my sight is about normal.
I was not interested in religion of any kind upon my acceptance of Christian Science, but having been benefited in so many ways by it, I feel it is not only a duty but a privilege to testify to the truth which is redeeming mankind from sickness and sin as nothing else can. The longer I study and apply its teachings, which Mrs. Eddy has made possible for us to do, the more I appreciate its inestimable value. If any readers of this testimony are in a state of doubt or unrest, let them take heart, for I have, perhaps like many others, been apparently at death's door, and still remain to tell the story. The Bible declares that "God is no respecter of persons," and there is certainly hope for all who will seek first of all "the kingdom of God" as revealed in Christian Science.—Camden, Maine.
