After an experience of several years in Christian Science I wish to express my thanks to Almighty God for the unnumbered blessings that have come to me. Although to material sense I was gifted with a wonderful constitution, nevertheless exposure, overexertion, want of ordinary care, wrong pursuits and pleasures, which seem to make up the chief aim and existence of so many, all brought their inevitable result in the shape of ill health. For many years I was intimately acquainted with both doctors and drugs. but they gave only temporary relief. In one form or another, after spells of freedom, sickness would manifest itself.
For twelve years I was held in terrible bondage to what seemed to me the worst cough a man could possibly have, often accompanied by pleurisy and bronchitis, and was also a sufferer from stomach disorder. These two evils had made me a physical wreck. The quantity of medicine I consumed under medical treatment can easily be imagined, Since the day I began the study of Christian Science, however, I have not used material remedies in any form.
I can now eat all kinds of food, and am almost as tired of being told I look twenty years younger as I was previously of being asked how the cough was. The cough has been so completely overcome, that whereas formerly I never bathed in the sea except in the warmest weather, for the last few years I have bathed all through the winter, even in the most bitter cold, and have never suffered from it. At sixty-eight years of age this is sufficient proof of God's power and willingness to heal all who turn to Him for help.
