In the first days of January, 1914, I became very hoarse as the result of a cold, and was unable to talk above a whisper. Despite the many material means which I applied, including home remedies and medicines prescribed by various physicians, I failed to experience relief. The trouble had been dragging along for about three months, and there seemed to be no hope of improvement, when relatives advised me to seek help in Christian Science, of which there were representatives in Basel. In my need I set my trust upon this method of healing, and through the help derived from an understanding of God was able ten days later to talk as distinctly as ever.— Steinen (Baden), Germany.
