Testimonies of Healing

From the July 1917 issue of The Christian Science Journal

In Isaiah we read, "Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters." How grateful I am that I have found the way to drink of these living waters! For years I lived a happy-go-lucky life, quite satisfied with things as they were. Then came the loss of parents, three years of illness and operations, and also much other trouble in my home and married life. Through it all I was earnestly searching for a God who would comfort me, but I wandered from church to church without obtaining the needed spiritual food. Today I rejoice to know that not only myself but all can go direct to God, and that "the everlasting arms" are ever open to receive us, and I thank God for this "unspeakable gift," the truth which makes man free.

Although I did not come to Christian Science for physical healing, I was instantaneously healed of headaches, which oppressed me for days together, also continual internal trouble, depression, and many other discordant conditions. Above all I am grateful to have learned in Christian Science that God takes care of our children, that the mother's work is just to know that they are in the "secret place of the most High," and that good is the only attraction and the only power. I have received so much help from others" testimonies that I hope mine may prove helpful to some one. My earnest desire is that I may ever be a faithful laborer in God's vineyard, knowing that if I listen for the "still small voice" to guide me, I shall know what my work is and when and how to do it.

I shall earnestly endeavor to prove my thankfulness to God by living the life of Christ Jesus' teaching. My heart goes out in gratitude to Mrs. Eddy for her loving guidance in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" and all her other works, and for all our literature, church services, and reading rooms, from which I obtain so much help. Words seem inadequate to express my gratitude for the manifold blessings which have come into my life through Christian Science.—
