The understanding of God as...

From the July 1917 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The understanding of God as taught in Christian Science has brought untold blessings into our lives. A few years ago, when almost passing away with heart trouble, I was instantly healed through the power of Truth. Bronchitis and many other discords have been overcome, and I have been saved from serious accidents. Under divine protection I was able to give thanks for the ever present power of God and was made whole. Divine Love has indeed met every need. It would be impossible for me to give expression by words to the wonderful revelations of the actual presence of the power of Truth. It can only be felt by those striving to dwell "in the secret place of the most High."

My husband, who also loves this truth, has had many demonstrations of healing in response to prayer; in fact we have all learned to go to our Father with all our needs and desires. Every day is one of communion and activity in truth. I return thanks to God, the giver of all good, for the glorious responses to those who are seeking the truth. The windows of heaven have certainly been opened to us and our lives filled with all good. I bless and revere our Leader, who toiled so unceasingly, for she knew what her labors meant to a waiting and weary world.

Before I came into Christian Science I did not understand my relationship to God, because I did not know Him aright. My prayers were not answered, because I did not know where and how to find Him, and so I asked amiss. In the light of Christian Science I have learned to wait patiently upon the Lord, and He has never failed me.—
