For some time I have had a desire to tell of what God has done for me through Christian Science. For several years I was afflicted with sciatic rheumatism and at times suffered severely. As I was a drinking man, these attacks would start me in drinking, and finally I could not be depended on. I did not care what became of me, and my wife suffered untold sorrow, for she feared I would kill myself in one of my despondent moods.
All kinds of material remedies were tried, but I kept getting worse. Shortly after I had been on a protracted spree caused through suffering, a friend called on us and told me what Christian Science had done for her, saying that she had received wonderful benefits and that God could heal me also. I read some Christian Science literature which she gave us, and she then loaned me "Miscellaneous Writings." After reading this about half way through, I was healed of the rheumatism, also of eye trouble and swearing. I had worn glasses for about eight years, and had not been able to do anything without them, but they were laid aside. About six months later the tobacco habit left me, and the desire for liquor has also gone. I now enjoy perfect health, and feel I have indeed been born again. Needless to say my wife is happy, and she too has received wonderful benefits from Science. She was almost blind, but has been healed through the power of Truth.— Sperling, British Columbia.
