I am very grateful for many blessings that have come to me through an understanding of Christian Science. In the summer of 1916 a discordant condition of the throat caused me great inconvenience and discomfort. I held to the truth faithfully to the best of my understanding and was enabled to perform all the duties required of me for about three days, when it seemed best to ask for help from a practitioner. For two days and two nights I was unable to swallow even a drop of water, but on the third day I was able to swallow, and complete healing rapidly followed. I was very much emaciated after this experience, but in a week my weight was normal again.
The spiritual awakening and understanding which came to me at that time filled me with loving gratitude to our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for the patient labor which enabled her to present to the hungering world "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures."— Vallejo, Cal.
