Testimonies of Healing

Christian Science was brought...

From the July 1918 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Christian Science was brought to me when I was very much in need of comfort. For two years I had a great fear of losing my eyesight, and was treated every two or three days by a specialist who told me that I had a serious case of cataract, and that I would have to be treated the rest of my life, but at any time might lose my sight. I was almost blind in both eyes. I am thankful to acknowledge that through Christian Science this trouble has been entirely overcome; my eyesight is better than ever before. I also suffered from neuralgia for eight years, and took strong narcotics to get relief from it. I have been entirely healed of this ailment, also of a skin disease and of the drug habit. I am now enjoying perfect health. It seems almost too good to be true, but we know that all things are possible with God.

I did not know anything of Christian Science and its healing power when a friend and practitioner most lovingly brought to me the realization of God as the only Life. I discarded medicine, and have since depended entirely on God for every need. Although I had faith in God, I could hardly believe that divine Truth could heal every kind of disease. I could not grasp this teaching at first, but knew that it was good and that it was of God. The spiritual uplift which I experienced through the study of Christian Science means more to me than the physical healings. I am thankful that this truth has come into my life, and for the better understanding of God as a loving Father-Mother who cares for His children at all times. Fear is being destroyed through the understanding of God as infinite Mind and of man as the reflection of the Mind "which was also in Christ Jesus." It is wonderful to know that through the power of Truth physical and mental discord can be overcome. I am deeply thankful to God for all the blessings which have come to me, and am indeed grateful to Mrs. Eddy. My desire is to learn more of divine Truth and be able to help others. My daily prayer is that I may live in obedience to God. —(Mrs.)
