I have often derived much benefit from reading the testimonies in the Sentinel and Journal and send mine hoping it may help some one. I came to Colorado three years ago in the search for health, the doctors advising it, as I had suffered for eight years from asthma and stomach trouble. For about three months the climate seemed to help me; then I had attacks, more frequent and severe than before, which seemed to hurt my heart, until I almost felt as if life was not worth living. I went to another doctor, who diagnosed my case as lung trouble, asthma, and enlarged stomach, and told my husband later that only an operation would give me relief. To this I would not consent, as I feared the operation might prove serious.
That was in June, 1915; in November influenza was added to the other ailments and I became bedfast. Then I sent for a Christian Science practitioner, and within half an hour after her departure I arose. That evening I prepared supper. Within three weeks the pain in my lungs left and, I am thankful to say, never returned. I was troubled with asthma for over a year, but soon discovered that displays of temper brought on these attacks. This ailment was overcome by reading and my efforts to overcome temper, which I found did not belong to God's child. Five days after the practitioner called I ate what I chose, thanking God that I could eat, and that food had no power to hurt His child.
My little girl, then a child of two years, was healed of bowel disorder in three treatments. My son was healed of gastritis. Both have been speedily freed from attacks of croup, tonsillitis, influenza, measles, and chicken pox. I can truly say these healings have been permanent.
