My first healing by Christian Science was experienced some ten years ago, through the reading of our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. I began to read it with an honest desire to know how healing could be accomplished through prayer in these days as in Jesus' time, and in about three months I realized that a very extreme weakness of the back had disappeared. For twelve years or more I suffered from this discordant condition, and words can never express the gratitude I feel for being freed from this bondage.
Many times since, it has been proved to me that to know the truth does make free. Every day I feel a deeper reverence for our beloved Leader, who was pure and unselfish enough to give to suffering humanity the Christ-teaching which heals and saves.
