"God is Love." I cannot express just what the truth of these three words meant to me the first evening I came in and read them on the wall of a Christian Science church. On page 6 of Science and Health Mrs. Eddy says: "'God is Love.' More than this we cannot as!;, higher we cannot look, farther we cannot go." I only hope some one who has not studied this may look it up and share with me some of the good I received from these two lines.
When I first turned to Christian Science, it was for a physical healing. The disease, tuberculosis of the throat, was of seventeen years' standing and the best of specialists said there was no more help for me, so I turned to Christian Science. We called a practitioner, and in three days' time it was beautifully overcome. I have never had any trace of its return but once, and that was overcome almost instantaneously by the realization that man is purely spiritual. This was about four years ago.
The healing came so quickly, I did not have any understanding as to how it came about; but this gave me faith, and I had a great desire to press on and find out how it was brought about. The way seemed dark at times, but I had read that Christian Science has given us a foundation upon which to work out all our problems. I knew the light was there, and if I was faithful and did my part, divine Love would surely meet every need. Since then I have had so many beautiful demonstrations in my business life and in various ways that I know now what once I only believed. To say I am happy and grateful for this wonderful help, spiritually, physically, and financially, does not express my gratitude.— Mishawaka, Ind.
