Five years ago Christian Science enabled me to cut away from the smoking habit of over twenty years' standing. The change was instantaneous and complete, and there has never been any desire to smoke since. Several times during the past year I have been able to overcome toothache. On page 2 of Science and Health we read, "Prayer cannot change the Science of being, but it tends to bring us into harmony with it,"and on page I we learn that "thoughts unspoken are not unknown to the divine Mind. Desire is prayer." These statements rightly understood prove the efficacy of prayer and the power of unity with God and I sincerely appreciate the privilege afforded me through the ministration of Mrs. Eddy, who has given us "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," whereby I am enabled to grasp the significance of the counsel given to Job, "Acquaint now thyself with him [God], and be at peace."— Dayton, Ohio.
