For several months I have felt that I ought to express my gratitude publicly for the beautiful healing that I have experienced in Christian Science. For two years I was in constant pain, although I had tried every conceivable remedy for rheumatism. I had what the doctors termed rheumatism of the worst kind and in its worst stage, was on a very rigid diet and as helpless as a baby, as I could neither wash nor dress myself. In sheer desperation I turned to Christian Science. I had absolutely no faith in its power to heal, but it was "man's extremity." therefore "God's opportunity." My healing was not quick, but the slow healing made me study more earnestly. To-day I am free from pain, and would willingly give up all my earthly possessions rather than relinquish even the slight understanding I have gained of Christian Science. I have been healed of colds, influenza, headache, sore throat, and chronic bowel trouble, from which I had suffered all my life.
I would like to express my gratitude for our lectures and literature, both of which have been very helpful to me. The Bible, which was a closed book, is now my daily companion, and I have learned to love it. I think that for which I am most grateful is the new understanding I have gained of the words, "Thy will be done." Formerly they filled me with fear, as I wondered what additional suffering God might wish to inflict on me; now they fill me with such a sense of peace and happiness, knowing that God's will is to send nothing but good. My constant prayer is that God will enable me to follow our dear Leader as she followed His blessed Son and that my life may attest my gratitude.— New York, N. Y.
