I would like to express my gratitude for the many blessings experienced through the understanding of Christian Science. I took up the study of this religion in July, 1915. and only wish it had been sooner. For years I had been a sufferer from nervous sick headaches, stomach disorder, and kindred ailments. At different times I had been under the care of physicians, but all relief was only temporary and finally I realized that they could not cure the nervous trouble. I believed that Christian Science would help me but for some time was reluctant to take up this teaching on account of my religious training.
Things went on in this way until sleeplessness was added to my suffering, and for nine weeks I was able to sleep but very little. Then I realized that the only thing for me to do was to call on a Christian Science practitioner and did so. After the first treatment my condition was much improved, and by the end of a week I was feeling better than in a long time. I then began to attend the Christian Science church services and went to as many lectures as possible. My health continued to improve right along, and I have endeavored to become a diligent student of Christian Science, knowing that happiness and health are to be found in its teaching, for I have learned that God is Love. For a number of years I wore glasses, but now do everything without them and read more than ever before. This teaching has changed me entirely, giving me a better disposition, and freeing me from all sense of discord, worry, and unhappiness. It has brought greater joy and peace into my life.
In March, 1916, there was a loss in our family, and Christian Science taught me that God is our real Comforter, and that our loved ones who pass on are protected by His everlasting love. Christian Science has helped me in my business and is helping me daily in everything I do. In the fall of 1916 the application of this truth healed me of boils on the hands; divine Love also saved me from what might have been for me a serious automobile accident.
