While living near Boston, during the spring of 1915, I was led by curiosity to attend a Wednesday evening testimony meeting in The Mother Church. I had then been wearing glasses for nearly fifteen years for a structural defect of the eyes, and the law had been laid down that glasses would always be needed. In the course of the service several earnest testimonies concerning the healing of the eyes by Christian Science greatly impressed me,—so much so, in fact, that I have never had my glasses on since that time. It was several months later and in another city that I began to study Christian Science, and then for the first time realized that my eyes had been healed during that meeting in The Mother Church. My sight is not only good but acute; and my gratitude for this healing is beyond words. The study of Christian Science healed me of a distressing form of stomach trouble which had persisted for more than three years, and daily demonstrations of the efficacy of Truth in the solution of all our problems prove beyond cavil that this is the Science of Life.
In expressing appreciation for the great work of Mrs. Eddy and her loyal followers, I wish to voice my gratitude for the privilege of working in a slightly developed field. To help take the first faltering steps, then to witness the firmer tread, to see ahead the full stride and know that only success attends right effort—this brings a joy for the pioneer.—St. Augustine, Fla.
