Well knowing that all the help that I have experienced through Christian Science is the omniactivity of Mind expressed, hence wholly impersonal, I send this testimony, hoping that it may help some one else as I have been helped countless times, by the expressions of gratitude through our periodicals.
Before investigating the subject of Christian Science, I was a victim of a severe form of intestinal indigestion, and had suffered from this difficulty for years, as well as from throat trouble that I had been subject to from childhood. I had also had several attacks of appendicitis, and after having been told by my physician, a family friend, that my only escape from this difficulty was through a surgical operation, I called for Christian Science treatment, the subject having been presented to me several times by those who had been healed. My speedy relief through Christian Science from the worst attack I had had, was my first proof of the healing efficacy of Mrs. Eddy's teachings.
I was deeply grateful for this release from physical suffering, but my greater joy was in the fact that Christian healing is a present possibility, now as in Jesus' time, for from childhood I had always felt the teachings of the Bible supported this proof of the omnipotence of God. Not long after this the other physical difficulties mentioned above vanished, but my freedom from these seeming foes was nothing as compared with the freedom from a morbid sense of unhappiness due in large measure to my false concept of God and His will, the very words "God's will" having always meant to me resignation to sorrow, death, and the like. This healing took place many years ago, and since that time there have been countless opportunities for proving God's allness. I can truly say that Christian Science has never been found wanting, for just to the extent to which I have consistently followed its teachings have I been able to prove that it is indeed the second coming of the Christ, and the former concept of God's will has given place to that expressed by Jesus when he said, "Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom."
