Testimonies of Healing

From the August 1921 issue of The Christian Science Journal

It is with deep gratitude that I express my appreciation of what Christian Science has done for me. I took up the study several years ago since which time the Bible and "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, have been my constant companions advising, governing, and comforting me. Christian Science has been called the "Science of right thinking," and what I am most grateful for is that it has enlarged my vision, and is teaching me how to pattern my thinking after divine Principle, and to obey Mrs. Eddy's injunction: "Let the perfect model be present in your thoughts instead of its demoralized opposite" (Science and Health, p. 407). It is teaching me to be patient and loving and to rely on God alone; to know that He is omnipotent, omnipresent, infinite good, and that we, His children, are never for an instant without His protecting care.

I am grateful for a larger understanding of love, and that true giving does not consist of material things, but of the good, pure, and healing thought which uplifts all mankind. I am grateful for all the loving help I have received, for class instruction and church membership and for the privilege of teaching in the Sunday school, for our periodicals, which have come many times as a ray of light dispelling the cloud of material sense, and it is my daily prayer that I may so live each day as to reflect more of the Christ.—
