With deep gratitude I should like to try and enumerate some of the blessings which Christian Science has brought into my life. When I first began the study of this wonderful Christ-teaching, I was a constant sufferer from neuralgia, indigestion, inaction, and a painful and chronic form of nasal catarrh. For this last named trouble I had suffered two slight operations on my nose and tried every form of relief in materia medica that had been suggested to me but all to no purpose, as the least sense of dampness or cold winds or dust would bring the whole condition back again and i was deprived of a great deal of freedom and activity.
Some months after I began the study of the Christian Science textbook. "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, everything began to improve, indigestion lessened neuralgia departed and the heavy colds and inflammation were far less frequent. I studied very closely every day often wrestling for hours over some point I could not understand, until the light dawned. Suffice it to say that gradually I realized that I was healed, all fear of climate and climatic conditions had disappeared, and truly, as our Leader says on page 445 of Science and Health. "Christian Science silences human will, quiets fear with Truth and Love, and illustrates the unlabored motion of the divine energy in healing the sick."
I have also experienced the immediate healing of a doubly wrenched ankle through the understanding that muscles are governed by thought. I was not laid up one hour on account of the accident. Sincerely grateful as I am for these physical healings, the greater joy and gratitude must always be for the spiritual awakening for the entire change of basis of one's thinking, and the increasing knowledge of Truth that displaces all lethargy and depression with joy activity, and endurance.—London, England.
