When I first began the study of Christian Science J was a physical wreck, for I had been suffering from gallstones, dyspepsia, appendicitis, and bowel trouble for many years. I had tried almost every material remedy but without receiving any help. Finally I went to see the most eminent doctor in the state, and his diagnosis was practically a death sentence. A month or so after that a copy of Science and Health was presented to me. I took it, went to my room, and commenced reading it, and right there I found to my satisfaction that there is no sickness, that Mind is Life, and that which calls itself sickness and suffering is merely human belief manifested. Christ Jesus said, "If ye continue in my word . . . ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." We must learn to understand that Mind is not in matter, brain. What would we accomplish if we tried to put the ocean into the fish? This has been all unveiled to me by reading Science and Health. I was instantaneously cured of liver trouble and the other ailments gradually responded to the truth. If I give thanks only in words for the blessing I have received through Christian Science that would not be sufficient.— Richmond, California.
