Our Leader declares in "The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany" (p. 274): "I am cheered and blessed when beholding Christian healing, unity among brethren, and love to God and man; this is my crown of rejoicing, for it demonstrates Christian Science."
The Directors wish to call the attention of the field to these words from the message which our Leader sent to the Boston Herald in April, 1908, as a premise to the all-important subject of unity of the churches, through universal fellowship and activity, in the entire field of Christian Science. Our Leader knew full well that the church our Master established was founded upon spiritual understanding; for he said, "Upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it."
