Truth can be applied not only to the healing of disease, but to all the problems of daily life. We had trouble in connection with a bill, which we had paid, but the payment of which was contested. Being unable to justify our case by proof, we were obliged to pay a second time; and the bill being a fairly large one, this caused a serious deficit in our budget. It troubled us considerably; but having learned through Christian Science that God is an ever present help, we were able to deny the wrong. In a short time the man admitted having previously received the money, and offered many apologies. Later on, other business complications arose, and we again had a splendid demonstration through the application of the truth.
My mother had an acute attack of influenza, accompanied by symptoms of pneumonia. She was unable to move, and hardly able to breathe; also had fever. We asked for the help of a Christian Science practitioner, and through the understanding of our ever present Father-Mother God, prompt relief was obtained; so much so, that two weeks later my mother returned to work, and although it was quite strenuous, she felt stronger at the end of the day than she had previous to the illness. Shortly before this illness of my mother I myself had suffered from bronchitis and pain, all of which vanished, thanks to our Father-Mother God, as revealed in Christian Science.
