ANNUAL MEETING OF THE MOTHER CHURCH

From the July 1924 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The Annual Meeting of The Mother Church on Monday, June 2, at two o'clock, occasioned the assembling in the church edifice of a vast audience from many widely separated parts of the world. The presence of this great gathering of members of The Mother Church was another proof of the deep devotion of Christian Scientists to the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, Mary Baker Eddy, and an earnest of their loyalty and faithfulness in carrying forward, even to the uttermost parts of the earth, the ministry which she established. There was manifest throughout the exercises a deep-toned sense of thanksgiving to God for His innumerable gifts to mankind, and of profound gratitude to our beloved Leader for her Christian zeal and untiring labors in establishing the Cause of Christian Science. Among many items of great interest to the field contained in the reports read was the fact that again the new membership in The Mother Church exceeded that of any previous year.

After singing hymn 195, "Shepherd, show me how to go," by Mary Baker Eddy, the meeting was opened by the retiring President, Charles E. Heitman, C. S. B., of New York, who read the following citations from the Bible and Science and Health:—

Bible: Luke 2:41, 43, 46, 48, 49, 52; Luke 4:5-8; I Corinthians 15:58.
