Students of Christian Science are beginning to see that much of the trouble and difficulty incidental to mortal existence is due to the false belief in time. The reason for this becomes obvious in the light of divine metaphysics: Mrs. Eddy, in her definition of time on page 595 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," makes time synonymous with matter and error.
Even in the ordinary sense, it is true that the belief in time is at the bottom of many problems with which we are confronted in human experience, and responsible for much of the inharmony of that experience. Lack of time, and the belief that certain things must be done within the limits of time, account in a great measure for the hurry and worry that add so much to the sum total of human discord. And yet, lack of time is utterly without basis in Truth; for in reality man lives in eternity, and it is self-evident that there can be no lack in eternity.
God, divine Mind, is infinite. Mind is therefore limitless, boundless, eternal. Mind is Life, self-existent Being. Mind, Life, is therefore deathless, changeless, immutable, invariable. And God, according to Scripture, and as understood in Christian Science, is the one cause, the one creative Principle.
