With a grateful heart I should like to testify to having been freed from a serious illness through Christian Science. In 1912, I was taken ill with inflamed thyroid gland and heart trouble. After the doctor I called in had pronounced the trouble incurable, I was in despair. There was only one thing that might be tried,—an operation, which, however, was not expected to help much; but it could not be carried out on account of physical weakness. So only death awaited me; and it was expected to come soon.
My brother, who was in Hannover at that time, was healed of an incurable sickness through Christian Science. This gave me new courage; and after my first treatment by the same dear practitioner I felt better. I slept the first night; and sleep was a thing I had not known for half a year. To-day I am, thanks to divine help, so happy and well that I can go on long walks and tours without getting tired; whereas formerly I could not walk up one flight of stairs. I cannot express in words how grateful I am to be free from difficulty and worry. Divine Love has always helped us, not only in cases of sickness, but also in every pecuniary way. We have proved anew that
"Whosoever trusts upon the almighty God,
Does not build his house upon sand."
