With deepest gratitude to God for what Christian Science has done for me, I give this testimony in the hope that others may reap such blessings as I have received. I have had many healings, among them three from what were deemed incurable diseases: a cancer which caused great suffering; a spinal trouble which caused severe pain in the back of my head; also a very bad cough. My healings were very slow. I read "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and all of Mrs. Eddy's writings I could get, also the Bible; but it seemed as though I could not grasp the truth. At times the suffering was so intense I could not read or think. After years of this suffering, one day while lying down I thought I could not live; and as the telephone was near me, I called a practitioner. The answer came: "'Our Father which art in heaven.' Know what that means to you. God is your Life." I closed the door to fear and doubt, and repeated these words over and over for hours. Then the words came to me, Arise, praise God; and I was healed! Also, our other needs were wonderfully met. Truth meets every need.
My one great desire is to be a true Christian Scientist. As Mrs. Eddy says: "God is infinite, therefore ever present, and there is no other power nor presence" (Science and Health, p. 471). I am very grateful to God, to Mrs. Eddy, and to the practitioner who taught me to know what Life, Truth, and Love mean to all who will learn of this priceless gift.— Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
