I am indeed very grateful for the better understanding of God and man I have gained through the knowledge of Christian Science. In the year 1916 I was feeling very despondent, having suffered with stomach and intestinal trouble for several years. One day my doctor advised me to read Christian Science literature. He said it helped nervousness; that it could not cure me, but his medicine would, if I were patient and did as he said! After reading the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, I knew no other help was necessary. The medicine was cast aside, and I started to eat what was served, without fear. In a short time I was healed.
The peace and comfort that have come with the realization that God is the source of all good, the ever present help in all trouble, cannot be measured. I am indeed grateful for the privilege of class instruction, and for membership in The Mother Church and a branch church. I am daily striving to be more worthy to be called a Christian Scientist.—Detroit, Michigan.
