I wish to thank God for Christian Science, thank Him with all my heart for all the good, all the blessings which my family and I have already received through this teaching. About seven years ago a kind lady, who knew how we suffered from illness, led me to Christian Science.
My little boy, when two years old, suffered from bronchitis, which in spite of medical treatment grew worse. Every change in the weather brought on new attacks; and in time he developed asthma. Physicians took great interest in this case. They were often present for nights together, expressing the opinion that humanly speaking the boy would not live through the night. Even the druggist said, in regard to all the drugs the lad was obliged to take, that he would like to see the boy to whom these drugs were given. When I saw, at the time of a very serious attack, that all material help was of no avail, I asked a Christian Science practitioner for treatment; and when the physician called again, the danger was over. He said he was faced with a puzzle.
In 1922, I was away from home for a short time. On my return I found my husband very ill. The physician had diagnosed the difficulty as emphysema of the lungs. I denied this with the truth; and the next day the condition of the lungs was normal. My husband also suffered from a serious brain disease, but it was completely overcome by Christian Science in three hours. Then I was afflicted with a serious heart and kidney disease, which, according to human opinion, left little hope of recovery, as sixteen years previous to this time a physician had wished to remove one kidney. Thanks to the help of a Christian Science practitioner I soon recovered, so that I was able to fulfill my household duties. I give God and Christian Science the honor!
