Nearly eight years ago, Christian Science came to me while in a hospital under treatment for nervous exhaustion, through a letter from a sister, which told me what Christian Science was, and how to reach out for the healing so sorely needed. No literature was allowed me until my nurse, noting an improvement, said to me, "You have been better ever since you had that letter." The letter was shown to her, and I was then allowed to have "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, on a Saturday. On the following Thursday I left the hospital practically well, much to the amazement of the two doctors who were attending me. I had taken medicine from childhood for a stubborn bowel condition that had often presented serious complications. During the following two weeks, while under treatment by a practitioner, every trace of physical disorder disappeared. Only once did I go back to medicine; and I am most grateful to say that it produced no action whatever, showing that faith in it had been destroyed. Since that time I have been stronger and healthier than ever before.
I am especially grateful for the healing of influenza, from which I had suffered each winter for a number of years, being obliged to remain in bed two or three weeks at a time, and even then recovering very slowly. This healing was instantaneous; and never since have I been confined in bed with this disease.
In caring for our four-year-old child, Christian Science has been a wonderful help to me. He has never tasted medicine, and is very strong and active. We have been protected from accidents and so-called contagious diseases, and never once has Truth failed us when rightly applied.
