Christian Science first came to my attention in November, 1913. My mother, who had been attending the services of a Christian Science Society for about two weeks, gave me a Sentinel to read and invited me to go with her to a Sunday service. At that time I was engaged in business in a near-by town, but was at home for the week-ends. I began to study the Bible Lessons, and it was not long before several physical troubles of long standing had disappeared —indigestion, constipation, and car sickness. I continued to study and attend the services. I also laid aside glasses, which I had been wearing while at work in the office.
Much help has come to me in my business experience through Christian Science. There have been several changes, always for the better. Colds, the grippe, a nervous breakdown which was slow in yielding, and several so-called minor difficulties have been overcome. I am grateful for every one of these healings, and for all the help that I have received from others along the way.
I have had the privilege of serving as a Reader in the Christian Science Society where I first heard a Lesson Sermon read, and have taken part in several of its other activities. I am a member of The Mother Church, whose services I now attend. This is a privilege for which I am most grateful.
