I am indeed grateful for Christian...

From the November 1927 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I am indeed grateful for Christian Science and what it has done for me and for our baby, who was born over a year ago. I feel I owe a great debt to this Christ, Truth, which has lifted me to higher and holier ground. Christian Science is the religion which exemplifies Isaiah's statement, "Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price."

I am also grateful to have overcome mumps, colds, headaches, and influenza. In the healing of these difficulties I have been taught a beautiful lesson of love. When we love God and man as we should, these evils fall away and their nothingness is realized. I am also grateful to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for giving us the periodicals. The Christian Science Monitor is one of the cleanest and most interesting newspapers I have ever read. I especially enjoy the woman's page, and also the musical and educational pages. All of the other periodicals are good, and furnish food for the hungering heart.

One of the greatest things I am trying to do is to love more each day. I am a member of The Mother Church in Boston, Massachusetts, and have been a student of this truth since 1914. My sincere gratitude goes out to the practitioners and friends for all their loving help and encouragement. I could never be able adequately to express in words my deep gratitude for this truth that makes us free from sin, disease, and death.—
