For nearly nineteen years we have enjoyed the benefits and freedom derived from the study of Christian Science. Our gratitude is measureless. I had been reared in a Protestant church, and my father was a minister for fifty-four years. It did not seem easy for me to accept this new-old religion as revealed by our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, in her textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." However, Christian Science was presented to us by an earnest, loving student when all material means had been exhausted for one in our home. After seeing this one raised out of bondage, I began the active study of Christian Science, and soon I was glad to ask for a letter of dismissal from my church.
My first physical healing was of tonsillitis, which had come to me at regular intervals and with increasing terror and suffering.
In the years that have followed, Christian Science has healed many colds, abscessed ears, influenza, a severe mental breakdown, and many other discordant conditions. In our business it was a present help, and we proved beyond a doubt that a business to be successful must apply the truths of Christian Science, which wipe out fear, limitation, worry, and discord.
