I did not come to Christian Science for healing; I sought it for a religion. After being a member and ardent worker in an orthodox church for thirty years, I became very unhappy and felt I was walking in darkness spiritually. Then came the separation from the church with which I had been affiliated. After a few months had passed, my husband and I began attending a Christian Science church in a large city in the Middle West; and we have attended regularly ever since, over fifteen years.
I am grateful for class instruction and for membership in The Mother Church, as well as in one of its branch churches. I have been healed of sick headaches, typhoid fever, eczema, sprains, and minor disturbances. Some of the healings have been instantaneous; none were of long duration. I am striving day by day to get a better understanding of the truth that heals the sick.
As we gain the understanding of the ever operative law of God, it protects us from the ill effects of so-called physical laws, and we prove that matter is subordinate to divine intelligence, and impotent to harm, limit, or destroy the ideas of God. This was clearly proved to me when our sons were in the war. God is our guide, our protection, our help in every need. I am grateful.—Topeka, Kansas.
