It is about twenty years since I first took up the study of Christian Science. During these years it has been my privilege to witness and to experience many wonderful healings. When I first turned to Christian Science, I was suffering from severe stomach trouble, constipation, and rupture. The constipation was permanently healed in the first treatment. The stomach trouble yielded more slowly, and necessitated a few years of daily study of the Bible and the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. It was thus finally overcome.
For the rupture I had worn a truss from childhood. I had been advised by physicians to undergo an operation, but this I refused to do. I was completely and permanently healed through Christian Science treatment, when the condition seemed very alarming. I have also been healed of eyestrain, for which condition I wore glasses. These I have discarded. Severe headaches and nervous prostration have been overcome. I was always very nervous, and my hands and feet were ice-cold most of the time. This condition is being overcome.
Our daughter, who is over thirteen years old, has never tasted medicine. She has been healed many times through Christian Science. When she was about two years old. she began experiencing attacks of nausea. These attacks came very often, and were extremely severe. This trouble has been completely overcome by Christian Science. Whooping cough came and went so lightly as to cause no inconvenience. Chicken pox was quickly healed, and she was successfully brought through influenza that had run into pneumonia. This healing was accomplished by absent treatment, the practitioner being thirty miles away. A chronic cough, which seemed to result from this sickness, also yielded to Christian Science treatment. Grateful as I am for these physical healings, I am more grateful still for the mental purification that is constantly going on. I can truly say that my life is being transformed. Christian Science has been, and is, my salvation.
