About fourteen years ago my granddaughter was healed by Christian Science of curvature of the spine. She was taken with this trouble when she was four years old, and for nine years was under the treatment of one of New York's most noted specialists. Everything that doctors could do had been done for her, including a serious operation, after which she became so lame she could not leave the house or walk without support. It was then that I took up Christian Science, and placed her under the care of a practitioner. In three months she was healed, and took off the steel brace which she had worn for nine years. She was able to go up and down stairs, and run and play as other girls without any inconvenience. To-day she is strong and well, there having been no return of the trouble.
This granddaughter was also healed instantaneously of a very acute and serious sickness before the healing of the spinal trouble took place. She was taken ill very suddenly, and my husband, who at that time was not interested in Christian Science, insisted on calling a doctor who had been the family physician for years. After examining her he said she was very seriously ill, but that he could not decide then just what the trouble was; he thought it was either scarlet fever or spinal meningitis. He left saying he would be back at four o'clock in the afternoon. I immediately called up the Christian Science practitioner and told her what the doctor had said, and she began work at once. In about ten minutes the child called me to the bed, and said, "I know I have been treated, for I am feeling so much better." That was about ten o'clock in the morning, and at three the doctor returned and found the little girl sitting up in bed playing. He looked amazed, walked to the bed, examined her, and said, "I cannot say now what it is, as you have no symptoms of anything."
Since the healing of this child I have had many blessings in my home. I have had the privilege of class instruction, which has been a wonderful help to me in the working out of many problems; and I am most grateful to God for having revealed the healing truth again to the world through His messenger, our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy.— Norfolk, Virginia.
