Christian Science has been my only physician for the past eight years. My first healing, from an internal abscess, was accomplished in ten days. Three physicians had agreed that an operation was my only alternative; and while I was lying in bed at the hospital, waiting for a suitable time on account of a very weak condition of my heart, the thought came to me to try Christian Science. While I was meditating what to do, the song,
"Lead, kindly Light, amid the encircling
gloom,
Lead thou me on!"
came to my thought repeatedly. I realized that I was unconsciously praying God to lead me. My prayer was answered. I left the hospital and called a Christian Science practitioner, who lovingly told me about God and man's relationship to Him.
