Gratitude compels me to delay no longer in telling of some of my healings in Christian Science. In 1918 my unhappy and depressed condition reached a climax. The doctor who was summoned diagnosed the case as brain fever. Treatment in Christian Science was asked for and very lovingly given, with the result that in a very short time I was working; and I suffered none of the after effects supposed to follow an attack as acute as mine. I have also been healed of the need of glasses, which I had worn for years. I now can read the smallest print and music for many hours a day without any strain whatever.
Another healing which stands out was the removal of a cyst from one of my eyes without any material application or operation. At one time I had to visit a doctor periodically to have -wax removed from my ears, after trying the usual softening material remedies. On visiting our Reading Room in my extremity, because of the importance of hearing for an evening's performance, I was lovingly reminded by the attendant that I was thinking the accumulation of wax was causing the deafness, and that was impossible. Within a very short time the wax softened and came out without even the aid of hot water. Last year I had a wonderful healing of a bad foot, after many months of suffering. The healing commenced immediately when I realized that God would heal me again as He had done before. I am most grateful for the help Christian Science is to me when applied in my profession. To say I am grateful for all that Christian Science is to me but faintly expresses what I feel, especially for the spiritual peace and happier outlook on life. To Mrs. Eddy, our dear Leader, for her untiring efforts to reveal to this age the Christ-healing, I am indeed most thankful. I rejoice in the privilege of serving in a Christian Science Society, and my earnest desire is to help as I have been helped by many dear Christian Scientists.—Morecambe, Lancashire, England.
