Some years ago I had been an invalid for two or three years from an illness known as Meniere's disease, and my life at that time was one of wretchedness and great fear. I had had no relief from the treatment of many doctors and specialists whose advice I had sought. I hesitated to undergo an operation, which was finally proposed for my relief, as admittedly it might cause total deafness. It was at this time that I gained a slight knowledge of Christian Science from a friend, and because it seemed to hold out some glimpse of hope I decided to ask for help. I am more than thankful and grateful that I did so, for almost at once I improved greatly, and eventually I became perfectly well. I was also healed of very marked deafness.
My gratitude is not only for the physical healing, but to those who have helped me to understand that Christian Science is a demonstrable religion and have encouraged me to persevere in gaining a better understanding of it.—Pulborough, Sussex, England.
