Testimonies of Healing

Words are inadequate to express...

From the May 1928 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Words are inadequate to express my gratitude for the many healings and blessings I have received in Christian Science.

Two years ago, while riding my bicycle, I was run over and suffered concussion of the brain, a broken collar bone, and bruises. Several days passed before I knew where I was. When I awoke, the pain was terrible, and I suffered a year without the slightest improvement. In accordance with the physicians' directions I went to a health resort of my own choice. I felt all the time that I was getting worse, and I lost all hope that I should ever be well again.

My friend, with whom I stayed, was a Christian Scientist, and he called my attention to Christian Science; but I was not inclined towards it, as I thought Christian Scientists were only another sect. It seemed as if I had not suffered enough. Several months passed, and I was nearly desperate. Instead of being able to sleep at night, I walked around half insane, without knowing where I was going. My sight and hearing were also affected. At last I decided to try Christian Science. I attended some of the services, and there I heard something quite different from what I had imagined. A Christian Scientist with whom I was well acquainted advised me to have a practitioner give me treatment, and he gave me some addresses.
