Christian Science came to me when all was dark and there seemed no joy or gladness for me. Sickness in my family seemed to be continuous. I had all my life longed to do something big in God's work, but I learned in Christian Science that the biggest thing I could do is to do the little things that come to me and leave the rest to God. The first time I heard of Christian Science I thought it was the devil's work, and would have nothing to do with it; but later, on hearing more about it, I learned that this religion was what I had longed and prayed for all my life. It brought me happiness and peace where before all was confusion and discord. It has lifted me out of all kinds of material beliefs "into the glorious liberty of the children of God."
I did not take up the study of Christian Science for physical healing, since I thought all the ailments I had, belonged to everyday life, but because I longed for peace and God. But as I studied I found such ailments as colds, corns, indigestion, burning and aching feet, dropping away one by one. I found that Christian Science changed my mental condition, correcting my thoughts of hatred and fear; and as my mental condition was changed, physical conditions changed also. My journey from sense to Soul has at times been a stormy one, but it has brought me happiness.
I am indeed grateful for having had the opportunity of bringing up my youngest boy in Christian Science. He works out his problems unaided in many instances. He turns to Christian Science in every difficulty.
